Patrick is committed to creating economically vibrant, socially cohesive and environmentally sustainable communities. This commitment is maintained through his diversity of education, accreditations and experience.
With respect to his education, he holds a Master of Arts in International Studies and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Urban & Regional Planning. He is also a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP), is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
Patrick began working as a planner in 2003 and has since become known for his versatility, dedication and responsiveness. His expertise in achieving municipal approval of policy plans, land use redesignations, subdivisions and development permits has benefited both public and private sector clients. These submissions have involved various land uses including residential, commercial, industrial, transit orientated development, mixed use and parks and open space. To support these applications, Patrick has organized numerous public engagement sessions and presented at six different municipal councils in southern and northern Alberta.
Beyond development applications, Patrick’s community development experience encompasses project management, urban design, public consultation, research reports, sustainable development, needs assessments, financial analysis, international development. This experience has been gained through positions in the private and public sector at all levels of government including municipal, provincial and national.
