Heather has worked as a professional planner in the private and public sectors for ten years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and environmental planning, a master’s degree in rural planning and development, and a certificate in public participation (IAP2).

Heather is a member of the Alberta Professional Planners Institute, the Canadian Institute of Planners, the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2). Heather has written for PLAN Canada and presented at the Alberta Professional Planners Institute conference. She is on the ULI Edmonton Events Committee, and the past Chair of the APPI Edmonton Events Committee, past member of the APPI Journal Committee, and past director on the Board of Directors for the Boyle McCauley Health Centre in Edmonton.
