Harry’s career spans 46 years and has included extended periods of private and public practice in both British Columbia and Alberta, and as a faculty member of UBC’s School of Urban Regional Planning and the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Environmental Design.

Harry is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP), a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) in both Alberta and British Columbia, and was elected to the College of Fellows of the Canadian Institute in 2014.

Throughout his career, Harry’s focus has always been to promote a collaborative approach to community, inter-municipal and regional planning. He is passionate about innovative land development & servicing initiatives that benefit communities and conserve critical resources.

Harry’s municipal service includes five years as the Director of Development Services at Red Deer County, three-and-a-half years as the Town Manager for the Town of High River and eight years as the General Manager of Development Services at the Regional District of Comox-Strathcona.

His innovative approach to solving a locally significant development issue in the Town of High River was recognized in 2012 by the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators with The Willis Award for Innovation.

Most recently his work for the Town of Creston Official Community Plan received an award from the Planning Institute of BC.
