The B&A Urban design team was retained to improve the existing plan for the new Transit oriented development / Community hub (TOD) in one of the newest developments in Calgary.
The design concept included full integration of the LRT (C-Train) station and bus terminal through an integrated built form and public realm. Generous sidewalks, weather protected waiting areas with colonnades and canopies, generous sidewalks, wayfinding and landscaping will create positive walking/commuting experiences for daily users.
An attractive urban parkette with a café/restaurant with large summer patio serves as a focal point for the TOD. Attractive, mid-rise office buildings with retail activated ground floors contribute to a sense of enclosure and walkability of the dynamic community hub.
