Parsons Creek

Aggregate Limestone Quarry

B&A Planning Group was retained to assist Graymont Western Canada and Inland Aggregates with municipal approvals and public consultation components of an Alberta Environmental Impact Assessment for a new limestone quarry located on the Athabasca River adjacent to the Fort McMurray Urban Service Boundary. Once operational the quarry will provide urgently needed aggregate products to the Fort McMurray construction market and may ultimately provide limestone products for environmental applications in the oil sands industry. The quarry lease encompasses over 2,000 acres of Crown land.
B&A assisted the client in successfully obtaining Municipal Development Plan and Area Structure Plan amendments to align with provincial land use policies.

We have prepared conceptual design plans, stakeholder newsletters, Public Disclosure documents, a First Nations Consultation Plan and other communication materials in support of the ongoing Environmental Impact Assessment process. B&A also coordinated First Nations consultation processes to successfully develop and conclude Impact Benefit Agreements.
