At B&A, there is never a dull moment while working on the incredible variety of planning, design and engagement projects. While our work in Alberta continues to create vibrant and healthy communities across the province, our work in British Columbia has been gaining momentum as our team drives thought leadership and creative solutions on several significant city-shaping projects.
B&A has a strong presence in the Lower Mainland and for several years have been engaged by multiple clients to lead various urban redevelopment projects in Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, Abbotsford, and Kelowna, to name a few. Our most notable projects include the Coquitlam Centre and Burquitlam Plaza redevelopments which capitalize on the significant transit investment occurring throughout Lower Mainland. In each of our projects, we have built strong relationships with our clients, our consulting team members, and the municipalities in which we work to achieve project success.
B&A is currently leading the planning and engagement for the Coquitlam Centre Master Plan, which is one of the largest redevelopment projects in Metro Vancouver. At the heart of its community, Coquitlam Centre is 60-acre site experiencing shifting retail dynamics and significant investments in the SkyTrain network, culminating in a tremendous redevelopment opportunity. B&A is leading the urban planning and engagement program that will transition this highly successful regional mall into Coquitlam’s new transit-oriented downtown core, which will be home to approximately 20,000 people. Our comprehensive engagement campaign, called Coquitlam Centre Unlimited, is an example of a best-in-class engagement program that is the envy of every redevelopment project.
While not the downtown core of Coquitlam, Burquitlam Plaza is the very heart of the Burquitlam-Lougheed Neighbourhood that so many people are proud to call home. B&A is working with our client and a renowned project team to transform an auto-oriented strip mall into a high-density mixed-use neighbourhood heart at the crossroads of Coquitlam and Burnaby and linked by SkyTrain.
It’s not every day that planners, designers, and engagement experts get to work on a redevelopment project like Coquitlam Centre or Burquitlam Plaza, but it feels good to make a difference in the lives of those who will call it home.
