Developable Land Reviews and Assessments

Purchasing land can be the first step in the development process. At B&A, we specialize in working with our clients to assess the future development potential of their land and help inform strategic acquisition decisions. We work to limit possible risks and to set up projects for future success.

We work with our clients to evaluate lands using planning, engineering, and environmental lenses, ensuring that the assessments we provide are holistic, objective, and defensible.  Our integrated team reviews the opportunities and constraints of land parcels based upon available data, existing legislation, and current municipal policy frameworks.

Our assessments include:

  • Review of high-level site characteristics and preliminary mapping, including topography;
  • Review of policy context, including relevant municipal and provincial legislation, regulation, policy, and guidelines;
  • Identification of environmental constraints and impact on potential developable area;
  • Mapping of opportunities and constraints within potential annexation areas; and
  • Delineation of potential developable area

By combining leading-edge GIS analysis with local planning experience and political knowledge, we are able to provide our clients with site-specific information to support informed decision making and future project success.
